3 Simple Rules for Clean Eating 🥦 🍎
Clean eating can sound intimidating but is actually quite a simple concept!
Rather than revolving around the idea of ingesting more or less of specific things (for instance, fewer calories or higher fat), the idea is just about being mindful of your food's pathway to your plate.
1. Eat Whole Foods
At its simplest, clean eating means eating whole foods, or those that are not processed or refined, making them as close to their natural form as possible.
It's about eating more of the healthiest options in each of the food groups & eating less of the not-so-healthy ones. That means embracing whole foods likevegetables, fruits, whole grains, lean proteins & healthy fats. It also means cutting back on refined grains, additives, preservatives, saturated fats & large amounts of added sugar & salt.
2. Keep Meals Simple
This is where clean eating trips people up--they think it means they must prepare immaculate, 20-ingredient meals they see on instagram or at the new "raw" restaurant in town.
In reality, the easiest way to eat clean is by sticking to simple ingredients &seasonings you know you like, that you will most definitely want to use again!
3. Drink Better
Calories that sneak in through beverages like soda, energy drinks, juices, & coffee are usually forgotten but can add up FAST throughout the day.
Choose water first, add at a little fruit if you need more flavors, choose unsweetened teas & limit the sugars & cream added into your coffee every morning.
We hope you enjoyed our tips for cleaning up your diet! Even if you only take a few steps toward eating cleaner they can still make a positive impact on your health!
